Holiday Gift Drive
Each year, Meals on Wheels hand delivers a warm gift to every meal recipient. In 2023, we delivered 850 gifts across three counties! Donate blankets, socks, toiletries, and small gifts to share warmth this holiday season. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Moses Taylor Foundation Awards Grant Funding
The Moses Taylor Foundation awarded Meals on Wheels of NEPA grant funding to support the purchase of three NEW Toyota Rav-4 Hybrid vehicles. Toyota of Scranton supported the project and sponsored the graphic designs of the new vehicles. The new vehicles are money-saving, eco-friendly, and safer options.
Meals on Wheels Marches in the Parade
The staff of Meals on Wheels marched in the Scranton St. Patrick's Parade on Saturday March 9, 2024. The team marched in commemoration of the March 1972 amendment to the Older Americans Act to include nutrition services for the elderly.
Meals on Wheels Celebrates at Voodoo Brewing Co.
Meals on Wheels supporters came out to enjoy a Friday evening of great food, drinks, brews, and live music at Voodoo Brewing in South Scranton. The event celebrated the 52nd anniversary of the Older Americans Act expansion to include nutrition services, like Meals on Wheel programs. A portion of the sales was donated to support the mission of Meals on Wheels of NEPA.
Designer Purse Bingo a Successful & Fun Event
Guests enjoyed a fun afternoon playing bingo, sharing food, and winning prizes - all to benefit a great cause! After twenty regular games, three special games, and one super special game, many winners went home with gorgeous purses! Funds raised during this event directly support the programs and mission of Meals on Wheels of NEPA.
Waverly Country Club Kentucky Derby Success
The Waverly Country Club hosted a Kentucky Derby party benefitting Meals on Wheels of NEPA on May 4, 2024. Attendees enjoyed an open bar, delicious food, and live entertainment. Party-goers sipped on fresh mint juleps and watched the Run for the Roses on the big screen! Ticket sales were sold out. Thank you to the Waverly Country Club for a great event which raised $4,000 for Meals on Wheels of NEPA!
Record-breaking $10,681 raised
Meals on Wheels of NEPA raised a record-breaking $10,681 during NEPA Gives, the region's largest day of giving. The Meals on Wheels team participated in numerous community engagements to promote the event.
Mix & Mingle - September 19, 2024
Our largest fundraising event of the year is Thursday evening, September 19, 2024, at Glen Oak Country Club. Join us for cocktails, jazz music, and raffle prizes as we celebrate two community members with honorary awards.
